Information collected when you visit
The website’s hosting and security services may process technical information such as your IP address, browser and device information, requested pages, access times and security events.
This information is used to deliver the website, maintain its performance, prevent abuse and investigate technical or security problems.
The website is built using WordPress and hosted by Namecheap. Its hosting and hosting backups are UK-based.
Cloudflare provides website security and delivery services.
The legal ground for necessary website administration and security processing is legitimate interests, under Article 6(1)(f) of the UK GDPR: operating a reliable website and protecting it and its visitors. These interests must be balanced against visitors’ rights.
Website analytics
The website uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, enabled through automatic setup, to understand visitor numbers, page usage and website performance.
Cloudflare describes this analytics service as operating without cookies and without collecting or using visitors’ personal data. This is distinct from Cloudflare’s security services, which may process technical personal information.

If you email hello@dawnsong.co.uk, Dawnsong receives your email address, the contents of your message and any contact details or attachments you provide.
This information is handled through Microsoft 365 Business to respond, understand your enquiry and, where requested, arrange a consultation.
Processing necessary to take steps at your request towards a therapy agreement relies on Article 6(1)(b): contract. Other general correspondence may rely on legitimate interests in responding and administering the practice.
Please avoid sending unnecessary sensitive information in an initial enquiry. If you share health information relevant to seeking therapy, its handling is explained in the Client Privacy Notice.
There is no newsletter or promotional-email mailing list.
Testimonials
Testimonials are published only with explicit permission covering the wording, identification and intended publication channels.
Permission may be withdrawn by contacting data@dawnsong.co.uk. Dawnsong can remove its own publications but cannot guarantee removal of copies or reposts controlled by others.

Sharing and international processing
Website and enquiry information may be processed by Namecheap, Cloudflare and Microsoft to provide their services. Relevant information may also be disclosed where required by law or necessary to address a legal claim or security incident.
Information is not sold.
Some providers operate internationally. UK hosting does not necessarily mean all processing or support access occurs in the UK.
Cloudflare publishes contractual transfer safeguards incorporating standard contractual clauses and the UK Addendum. Microsoft’s business-service data-processing terms also describe international-transfer safeguards. The arrangements applicable to a particular service depend on its contract and processing activities.

How long information is kept
If an enquiry does not lead to therapy, enquiry records are deleted within six months of last contact.
If you proceed with therapy, relevant information becomes part of the client record and follows the periods in the Client Privacy Notice.
Technical logs, website backups and cookie-preference records follow the applicable provider settings and retention arrangements. Their periods vary according to the service and purpose.
Information may be retained longer where necessary for a specific legal requirement, complaint, security investigation or legal claim.
Security
Measures include restricted access, password protection, software updates and the hosting and security protections supplied by the providers described above.
No internet service can guarantee absolute security. Email should not be assumed to provide end-to-end encryption.
Your rights and complaints
Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights to access, correct, erase or restrict your personal information, object to processing, receive certain information in a portable format, and withdraw consent.
Requests are normally free and answered within one month, subject to applicable legal provisions. Identity checks may be necessary.
